Hey guys!
I've got another review for the Revlon Lip Butters today! Yay!
These came out in The States last year and I heard so much about them on Youtube, I couldn't wait until they came to Australia! I believe they came in around March this year, but I only saw them last weekend at Myer (a department store), on sale! WOOHOO! I only bought one, in the colour 'Sugar Frosting', a beautiful shimmery light pink, and I think the sheerest colour they sell. I would have bought more, but they didn't have any colours I wanted left, but I can't wait to get my hands on 'Peach Parfait'.
Price:
Around $7 in the US, over $20 in department stores and chemists here in Australia, but I got mine for around $16 on sale :). For what 'Sugar Frosting' is (a very sheerly tinted lipbalm), it's definitely not worth it, but I know the other colours are more pigmented.
Wear:
In my experience, they wear about as long as a lip balm, as they have the consistency of one, and this obviously changes depending on how often you eat or do other activities that involve your lips... ;) For me, from 1-2 hours, but since it's so sheer, it isn't a problem to reapply without a mirror.
Packaging:
I LOVE the packaging of them! It looks so high-end! Great job, Revlon! :)
How my lips felt:
It definitely made them soft and smooth, and if you love lip balm, this is for you. It was comparable to any normal lip balm/chapstick in how much it moisturised my lips.
The Bottom Line:
I really like it, but since 'Sugar Frosting' is so sheer, it would be more worthwhile to get a more pigmented one, and they have a great range of colours. If you're looking for a cheaper alternative, the Nivea lip balms come in a range of different tints, and are very cheap, and if you live in the USA, Maybelline Baby Lips would be a good choice (they don't sell the tinted ones in Australia).
If you want to know more about them, or see swatches of the different colours, look up a review for them on Youtube :)
Hope this was helpful! Happy makeuping!
Love Rachel <3
